TELL ME WHY I SHOULD LET GO

Robert and John where very good friends and supportive to each other. Both of them meet each other at the orientation camp during their National Service year in one of the states. Their friendship continuied after their service year as both friends decided to stay behind to esterblish their selves where they both felt where their greener pasture.

They were retained at their different places of primary assignment where they worked for a year, and their salaries where reasonable for starting up their lives as fresh graduates. They rented separate apartments and visited each other frequently.

Robert is as tall as his friend John but tends to be more reserved unlike John who is more extroverted;  he had meet a young beautiful lady recently but feels reluctant to introduce her to his good friendJohn. He knows John and his tendency to tease and make jest of every thing; he felt it wasn't time to let John know about his relationship.

John had been invited to attend a club meeting of which most of the members were his kinsmen. There he meet an elegant young lady; he became  fascinated about this young lady as both of them could communicate in native dialect. John felt it was love at first sight and wouldn't stop thinking about her.
He had already called Robert on phone he has  a jist for him.

Hardly had John meet with his friend that he had already told him every thing he knew about the lady. Robert had no option than to tell his bossom friend he had been seeing a lady lately,  and he thought he was in love too. What a fortunte coincidence both of them could imagine.

John didn't waste time calling his parents on phone telling them that he had already found his missing rib. Both friends made plans to invite their ladies for formal introduction and looked forward to taking their relationship to the next level.

John was fast enough to invite her own lady to meet his friend. He was really on his best looks. Robrert came earlier as planned and was busy helping himself with a rich Royalty red wine, wating to see his friend's heartrub.

As atticipated, John was already at the door as the bell rang to welcome his bride to be. As Robert stirred to look at the lady being welcomed in by his friend, lo and behold!!! She was the same lady he has lately told John he meet and was looking forward to marry her.  He could not help but to scream "Jennifer!!!!" what on earth are you doing here?

John was confused and only knew her lady by the native name "Ada" as both of them meet at the village meeting; he has always called her Ada and never inquired about her other names. He needed an explanation and stood fixed on the floor tiles. The situation became critical for both friends and they were looking furiously at each other as if to be asking: Tell me why I should let go?💘

Questions: What do you think would become of the friendship between both friends? Could there be any justification in double dating when one has not meet with the rightful person? How would you manage the situation if you were one of the characters?
