From Left to Right Kenneth Obasi, Dr.Chris Imumolen, Eburuche Banito
We recently opened a group on
Whatsapp named Sure-Footed Group where I included the names of my network
friends I met at a recently concluded annual conference tagged ‘Strategic
Collaboration: The Way out for SMEs’. The conference so changed my thought
pattern that I started thinking less of myself and now thinking strategically on
how I can connect to others and be willing to share my strength with like minds
and collaborate with them in the areas of my weaknesses. So many of my network
friends have left the group, and I want to thank those of you that have been
patient to stay put with us.

I have always nurtured some facts
on the course of my career and now I wish to consolidate those facts; this is
as a result of the outcome of a conference
I attended few weeks ago.
The very first of these facts is to
know what I desire in life and meditating on it day after day none stop until
it comes to manifestation. Most times my ego has taken me out of this track. I
learnt during the conference that no idea is too small to become great; do not
let people talk you out of what you have ever wanted to become in life. Do not be carried away by the success made by
others in their various careers and endeavors; rather focus on your
proficiency, work hard and be patient enough to see yourself succeed in no
sooner time.
How often do we dwell on the
things we are very good at? I have learnt from a great mentor Banito, that if
your dream and passion is not great enough to make you feel uncomfortable, then
it is not a big dream. Great emotional
feeling, enthusiasm, and gratitude for feeling driven should be experienced on
the course of your journey to realizing your dreams.
Then I use to think that my
desires and dreams were just mere imaginations; I could not just stop thinking
of the obstacles before me. The magic I have come to realize is on visualization.
I could remember setting short term goals without actually having the resources
and means to achieve them; strong feeling and believe as if I have already
acquired the set goals had increased my chances of success. I think such can
also be applied to achieving long term goals.
Dr Chris Imumolen, one of the
speakers at the strategic businessconference, said that he started behaving like a big man before he became
one, and now he feels self confident that I could see it in him; it comes naturally
with emotion, passion and intense realism. My self-esteem depends on the way I THINK
about myself. Sometimes we think we do not deserve to be complimented or
accorded respect; it makes us feel that the other person is very much better
and superior than we do.
From a recent expository, it was
confirmed that an African is genetically inherent to self-limiting toxic emotions and behaviors that had kept us underdeveloped;
that does not mean that we are helpless to our learned condition. It means that
we can unlearn our behavioral excess and learn to cover up for our behavioral
deficit. Africa can be great again if we start developing and working on our human
capacity.
The way forward; I have come to
believe in taking inspired/intuitive actions based on our creative ideas that
spring forth from our super-conscious mind via intuition, hunches, gut feeling
and the little knowledge we have acquired. Dr Chris Imumolen admonished that
one should mind who we share our ideas with, because little discouragement can
mare our dream and goals in life.
At all cost, I pray to be at the
right place at the right time so that success would not elude me. Sometimes we
may be at the right place and wish we are in the positions of others, while
others enviously seek to be where we are. Support others and do as much to
improve and develop yourself. These have
always been my dream and I am realizing it by connecting to like minds and a
group of volunteers that wish to make Africa great (Lead Africa Foundation)
