A friend shared this post targeted 'A Rejoinder' and I wish it makes sense to you. "In the world of work and business, we all have an advantage over the other people in the same sphere as us, whether we realize it or not. Your advantage maybe God, availability of resources, people you know, connections in certain key places, your key competencies, etc. If we are in competition with others and have advantages that they do not have, then we are not competing.
For us to compete in the true sense of the word, we have to play on level ground, and since that is not possible, it’s safe to assume we are not in competition of any kind.
And if we are not in competition, then we have no justifiable reason to measure ourselves or our performance by others or their results. We have to realize that of all the factors that determine our successes, measuring up with others is not one of them.
The wind, your boat, your sail, your crew and your boatmanship are what determine your success on the sea. The position of other boats, relative to yours does not affect whether you succeed or fail in that vast ocean. Think about it.
Thinking Your Idea"
