Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has issued an internal memorandum requesting all heads of departments to come for balloting on behalf of PCMs of their department.
According to source, the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) has informed all corps producing institutions of its inability to mobilize all graduates of the University for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ service year as a result of tight budgetary allocation of the scheme in 2016. This development affects all universities in Nigeria.
Unizik has been requested to mobilize
only eight hundred and ninty-four (894) graduates out of two thousand, three
hundred and fourteen (2,314) graduates eligible for the exercise.
This is applicable for every
university as NYSC has mandated them to send only 1/4 of their eligible
graduates.
Bowen University has been requested
to mobilize only three hundred and sixty-seven (367) graduates out of the nine
hundred and fifty six (956) graduates eligible for the exercise in 2016. The remaining
graduates will be given priority in the next mobilization exercise scheduled
for early 2017.
Our question is , why is Nigerian
Government wasting useful life of Nigerian graduates?
