As Pope Francis continues his tour through African countries, he has scheduled to visit the Juarez just five years after the city was deemed the murder capital of
the world. But a lot of folks are hoping the pope's visit will help bring
peace.
In 2010, there were
over 3,600 murders reported in Juarez. That number has dropped dramatically in
recent years and the city is trying to rebuild.
While the pope told
to reporters he's going to visit Juarez, the Vatican has yet to confirm the
specifics. He'll be in Mexico from Feb. 12-20.
